SINCE 1961: OUR HISTORY

A.M. Dockery showing flooring samples to Customers

ABOUT our company

The Dockery family has a long history in the Floor Covering Business. A. M. Dockery, featured above showing customers flooring samples, founded the parent company, Dockery Floor Covering, Inc. in 1961. Dockery Floor Covering initially served the Residential Construction industry as well as Homeowner Floor Covering needs of the Tri-Cities area. Three retail locations were eventually opened.

Soon after entering the Retail Floor Covering business a Commercial division was formed. An Acoustical Ceiling division was quickly added. Window Treatments for Commercial applications were soon to follow.

A. M. Dockery’s three children soon joined the workforce at Dockery Floor Covering.

Paula Dockery began clerical and office work in 1976 and was soon overseeing all Office Operations.

Ed Dockery came on board in 1977 and headed the Commercial Division.

Steve Dockery began working in retail sales in 1983 before joining the Commercial Division in 1985.

E. S. Dockery, Inc. was formed in 1992 when Ed Dockery and Steve Dockery purchased the Commercial division of Dockery Floor Coverings.

Paula joined E. S. Dockery in 1994 serving as Office Manager.

Jeremy Dockery joined the E.S. Dockery team in 2001 as the Director of Field Operations. Jeremy marks the Third Generation of the Dockery Family to work in the Family Business.

Keith Tolley also joined the E. S. Dockery team in 1994 as Estimator and Project Manager. Keith currently handles all the Acoustical Ceiling and Resilient Flooring projects.

Steve Garrison joined the company in 2011 bringing more than 30 years of ceramic tile and terrazzo experience. Steve currently handles all ceramic tile, terrazzo, and polished & stained concrete projects.

The new company operated at 2313 Knob Creek Road before moving all operations to 254 Christian Church Road in Gray, Tennessee.
