The Rogersville-based bank converted the old Chase building on Center Street in Kingsport into a modern multimillion-dollar complex that serves as a hub for other expansion activities throughout the Tri-Cities.
First Community hired local architect Mark Freeman and contractor Little & Adams General Contractors to modernize the building. The challenge is to take this old building and retrofit it into a bank,'' Greene said. Demolition of the interior had to be done, and construction of the new interior began after the debris was cleared.
The new design includes a main entrance on the side of the building that opens to a main lobby inside. Offices are redesigned, the building's existing elevator is relocated, and a large community room for board meetings and employee training was constructed on the second floor of the structure.
